Invest 2035 and The UK National Wealth Fund

Complementary Relationship

While the NWF and Invest 2035 serve different purposes, they complement each other. The NWF provides the financial backing to de-risk and support projects that align with the sectors and objectives outlined in Invest 2035. On the other hand, Invest 2035 sets the policy landscape that enables the NWF to identify viable projects and invest strategically. Together, they help shape a more resilient, sustainable, and competitive UK economy.

In reviewing initiatives as ambitious and forward-thinking as the National Wealth Fund and Invest 2035, it's clear that the UK is taking significant steps to drive economic growth and sustainability. These strategies are commendable, and I look forward to further communications that will no doubt include detailed implementation plans, resource mobilisation strategies, as well as key deliverables, KPIs, and measures of success.

As a bid support specialist, I deal with these elements every day when helping my clients respond to tenders. Clear KPIs and measures of success are integral to winning work because they set expectations, ensure accountability, and make it possible to demonstrate value in a way that is tangible and measurable. When defining the Scope of Work with clients, establishing these metrics is always a priority, not just for clarity but to facilitate clear client satisfaction outcomes.

Thoughts? I’d be interested to hear how others define success and approach implementation in large-scale projects.
